John Olusola Dada serves as Head of Operations at Aviam Offshore Engineering Company Limited, bringing over 40 years of extensive experience in drilling operations, rig management, and offshore installation management. He provides strategic leadership for the company’s drilling assets and operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing execution across all drilling activities.
Since joining Aviam Offshore in 2017, John has played a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of the company’s drilling capabilities, including leading the startup and upgrade of the St. Elaine drilling rig and overseeing rigless well intervention and production enhancement operations. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening operational performance and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Prior to joining Aviam Offshore, John held numerous technical and leadership positions with leading organizations, including Geoplex Drillteq, Transocean, Sedco-Forex, Frazimex Energy Services, Oando Energy Services, and Scorpio Drilling International (Nestoil Group). Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served as Training Manager, Base Manager, Offshore Installation Manager (OIM), Performance Coach, Rig Manager, Operations Manager, Head of Operations and Chief Operating Officer.
John possesses extensive expertise in well construction, workover operations, extended-reach drilling, well completion and recompletion, production enhancement, and rigless interventions utilizing nitrogen gas-lift technologies. He has also completed numerous international certifications and professional development programmes in well control, drilling technology, safety leadership, emergency management, and offshore operations, including multiple International Well Control Forum (IWCF) certifications, IFP School, France, Transocean Training Center, JC International, Petroleum Training Institute PTI, Nigeria and Aberdeen Technical College.
